Introduction
In 2018, the Andaman Natural Resources Conservation Foundation (ANRCF) expanded its organisational mission by linking "environmental conservation" with "creative economy development" through the Creative Economy Innovation Project in Lan Saka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province
This project aimed to develop "eco-tourism" alongside the conservation of natural resources and local culture, reflecting the foundation's new approach to integrating environmental sustainability with community economic growth.

Project Objectives
Project Objectives
- Develop Lan Saka District as a model for sustainable tourism linked to local culture and ecosystems
- Build community capacity to manage tourism businesses independently
- Promote environmentally friendly tourism approaches that reduce impact and enhance tourist experience quality
- Connect the local economy with conservation, culture, and creative industries
Key Activities
1. Tourism Development Planning
Survey and identify potential tourism sites in Lan Saka District that align with eco-tourism concepts
2. Community Training
Organise workshops to provide local residents with knowledge in tourism management, tourist services, and cultural value communication
3. Innovation Integration
Support the creation of products, souvenirs, and cultural activities that reflect Lan Saka's identity
4. Environmental Guidelines
Establish standards for sustainable resource use in tourism activities to achieve balance between use and conservation

Why It Matters
Conservation will not be sustainable without economic development that meets the needs of local people
This project therefore emphasises "creative economy" and "eco-tourism" as tools to link the conservation of forests, water sources, and cultural sites
with improving people's quality of life
Moreover, the project serves as a "model" that can be adapted for use in other rural areas seeking to balance tourism and sustainability.
Impact
This project helped strengthen Lan Saka District's capacity to become a "new eco-tourism hub in the South"
Communities gained knowledge and skills in sustainable tourism management, whilst tourists received authentic experiences without environmental impact.
Conclusion
The Creative Economy Innovation Project in Lan Saka District demonstrates the far-reaching vision of ANRCF
in creating "balance between environment, culture, and economy"
By integrating innovation with sustainable development approaches, the foundation has played an important role in advancing both conservation goals and community well-being.
