Protecting the Future: Sea Turtle Release in Phuket
On June 14, 2025, the Andaman Natural Resources Conservation Foundation (ANRCF), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Navy and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), hosted a large-scale sea turtle release at Phuket’s pristine coastline. The event symbolized hope for the Andaman Sea’s fragile ecosystem and highlighted the importance of community-driven marine conservation.

Event Highlights:
- Turtle Release Ceremony: With support from the Royal Thai Navy’s hatchery program, juvenile sea turtles were released back into the wild.
- Government & NGO Collaboration: Officials from DMCR, the Navy, and ANRCF emphasized the importance of protecting endangered species through cooperative action.
- Community Participation: Local schools, families, and volunteers joined hands to witness and support the release.
- Education & Awareness: Exhibitions showcased marine biodiversity, conservation practices, and the threats facing sea turtles.

Why It Matters:
Sea turtles face daily challenges from plastic waste, illegal fishing, and habitat destruction. Events like this not only replenish turtle populations but also inspire public awareness and behavioral change in communities and tourists alike.
By releasing sea turtles into the Andaman Sea, we release a message of responsibility and care for future generations. 🌊🐢
